Establishing Greater Energy Efficiency in U.S. Data Centers

Data centers are experiencing significant growth throughout the U.S. and in many other countries, making it one of the fastest growing energy-use sectors impacting electrical supply and distribution systems.

The Green Grid, a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems, and the U.S. Department of Energy Save Energy Now are driving a collaborative campaign to promote increased energy efficiency within U.S. data center facilities and The Green Grid member organizations.

The Green Grid and Save Energy Now's efforts focus on improving energy efficiency by educating design professionals, IT managers, and facility managers on both the technical implementation of a more efficient, reliable data center and the associated financial benefits.

The Green Grid and Save Energy Now Energy Efficiency Framework

Together, The Green Grid and Save Energy Now are working to support a variety of activities, which aim to assist data center facilities in initiating and implementing an energy management program, to adopt clean energy and efficiency technologies and to achieve continual efficiency improvements.

The Green Grid and Save Energy Now campaign will result in the development of a common set of best practice information, terminology and tools to promote increased energy efficiency throughout U.S. data center facilities.
